Aqua Ace Swim School is founded by a brother and sister, Ms Angela Tan Xiao Qian and Mr Raymond Tan Swee Siong in 2015. Both siblings have been swimming since a very young age of 6 years old and 4 years old.

At the age of 13 years old, Coach Angela entered the school Swim Team at C.H.I.J St Joseph's Convent. She was chosen by her seniors to join swimming competitively & represented her secondary school throughout her youth. With time, Coach Angela managed to enhance her swimming skills and improve her personal timing with guidance of her Coach and seniors. She was also nominated to be Vice Captain of her school swim team. Coach Angela later decided to continue her passion for sports and graduated with a Diploma in Sports and Exercises Sciences (Sports Coaching).

During the time she was pursuing her diploma, she represented her school at in a series of swimming competitions. For example, POL-ITE.

After she graduated, Coach Angela started to coach part-time with other swim schools to gain more experience and enhance her coaching abilities.

Coach Raymond is a certified AustSwim, NROC and SLSS life saving instructor. He has a strong passion for teaching and is also good with interacting with people. Coach Raymond thinks learning swimming is a necessary survivor skill.

As a lifeguard himself, he has seen many cases where both children and adults alike unknowingly put themselves in a situation that would jeopardizes their safety. What he saw brought him to be extremely driven to the spread awareness of the importance of learning swimming the correct and safe way.

Throughout his youth, Coach Raymond was extremely active in sports. He not only was the Captain of Temasek Polytechnic Dragon Boating Team between 2008-2009, he also took part in the ASEAN games in 2010 to represent Singapore internationally in dragon boating.

After graduating from Temasek Polytechnic with a Diploma in Microelectronics, he went on to pursue a career in Lifeguarding. He also coached part-time for a year to gain more experience in handling children.

With our vast experiences in the sporting industry, we think it is not only important to teach students the set of skills required for swimming; it is also extremely important to instill moral values in the students. For example, discipline, sportsmanship and perseverance.
